Gray Racing, a flat, quarter-mile oval in Winston-Salem, was
home to some of the earliest heroes in NASCAR. From 1958 to 1971,
this asphalt track hosted 28 events in NASCAR's premier series.
The Dodge Weekly Series, a NASCAR-sanctioned event, remains the
featured division Saturday nights from May to August.
The Winston
Cup Museum highlights R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company’s
33-year sponsorship of the NASCAR Winston Cup Series and houses
more than 30 authentic Winston Cup race cars. It features one-of-a-kind
racing artifacts including trophies, uniforms, helmets, winner’s
checks, autographed pictures and signed original racing posters.
Richard Petty Museum showcases cars, trophies, mementos, Goodie's
Mini-Theater and Photos, Winston #1 showcar display and NASCAR history
from the "dirt days" to recent competition.

Childress Racing Museum, in nearby Welcome, North Carolina,
allows fans to see many of RCR's greatest race cars along with famous
machines from Indy car races and NHRA. See the winning car that
Dale Earnhardt drove to victory in the 1998 Daytona 500.
