What do I need to do to be listed on Visit Winston-Salem's calendar of events?
By entering your organization's event information into the Event-O-Rama!
Web site, your event will potentially be listed on not only the
Event-O-Rama! calendar, but also on the Visit Winston-Salem Web calendar and other
community calendars. With just a click of the mouse, you can increase
your publicity tremendously.
It is also important to list your events with Event-O-Rama! so that the CVB can keep a comprehensive master calendar of events. Please note that not all events entered by your organization will be listed on the CVB Web calendar; only those that would appeal to out-of-town visitors.
Go to the Event-O-Rama! Web
site and click "Add an Event." You are presented
with a standard Web submit form where you simply type in
the requested fields of information.

Is it possible to link my Web site to the Visit Winston-Salem Web site?
Yes, it's possible, subject to our approval. We would appreciate
being sent an e-mail
formally requesting permission to link. It's just a formality, so
we know who's helping get the good word out about Winston-Salem.
Once we've responded to your
e-mail, please provide your Webmaster the following address:
http://www.visitwinstonsalem.com. Also tell them on what
specific page of your Web site you would like it to appear.

What can I do to obtain images?
Visit Winston-Salem maintains a digital
image library. Please contact the communications
department for more details. As we work closely with various
photographers, attractions and members of the hospitality industry,
we can readily advise which images are available (based on third
party usage copyrights, unlimited usage copyrights and one-time
usage copyrights), as well as other sources for photography.

Can I take images off of your
Web site?
Sorry, no. Because images are owned by the individual
photographers and they retain the original copyright,
we do not encourage taking images without permission.
We can, however, provide you the names of the copyright
owners, should you desire to purchase images or
obtain usage rights.

What is the typical turnaround to obtain information?
Thanks to the electronic world, most file information can
be obtained within 24-hours (Monday through Friday), unless
the information does not exist and research is needed or
the information needs to be customized. As the communication
department operates best when given a deadline, we prefer
a particular date and time versus the phrase "ASAP." Because
of the volume of things we handle in the communications
department, we greatly appreciate as much lead time as
possible.

I'm a travel writer and would
like to visit Winston-Salem and looking for assistance
during my stay. What's the process?
Thank you for your interest in Winston-Salem. Travel
journalists wishing to qualify for host assistance
must submit a letter from their editor, publisher
or news
director confirming their assignment, plus we may
ask that you send us a sample(s) of your most recent
clip(s) and/or
copy of a broadcast tape, along with completing
our media
request form.
